Creating a product consists of a multitude of decisions. How you choose to make those decisions will directly impact the results of your product. You’ll impact the quality of the product, the team surrounding the product as well as the timeliness of the product. Those decisions will result in success, failure or pure irrelevance.
Multiply that by the factor of thousands if we’re talking about starting a business. This is why a decisive leader with a vision is crucial to a young business. Without the ability to make decisions and drive the business forward, you’re either a sitting duck or you’re slow. Eventually being beaten out by competitors.
Decisions matter. Making good decisions matters. Making decisions quickly matters. It impacts everything. Being indecisive is destructive. It’s counter productive. Indecision can kill momentum, team camaraderie, innovations… the list goes on.
There’s no rule on how to decide quickly. If you’re in a position to make decisions then decide. Indecision is inaction. Make decisions quickly and fix as you go along. Sitting on it won’t make that decision any easier.
