Talent is a lie we tell ourselves. Talent is what we think makes people special. We say that to ourselves to make ourselves feel better on why we aren’t doing as much as we want to be doing. We use talent as an excuse for our lack of success. Our lack of trying.
The truth is - we all have talent. We’re all talented in our own way. Not everyone will be a talented swimmer, but we have a talent nonetheless. And here’s a guess - Your talent likely lines up pretty nicely with the thing you want to do in life.
The missing piece, the lie is hard work, perseverance and commitment. It’s not talent. It’s easier to lie to yourself than to own your limitations and push yourselves beyond the discomfort. Easy doesn’t build great.
This series of content is a small experiment. I pledged to create a piece of content on my site for the next 365 days. You can read the opening post here. The posts aren’t limited to thoughts or ideas, they’re really just a way for me to create original content. If you got any feedback/questions, please reach out. Thanks for looking.
