Company cultures can make or break a company. The tricky part is that they tend to grow naturally by the choices everyone makes on the inside.
So it’s not the company marketing initiative. It’s not the company catch phrases or HR driven exercises or codes of conduct. No. Cultures are the combination of actions of everyone involved in the organization. Yes, there are those within the organization that will inspire others to move forward to a better direction, and there are those who might pull in another direction. The important part is how we set an example for ourselves and for the organization.
It might start at the top, but it really matters at every level. Culture is what you make of it and how you cultivate it. Yes, you can shape it and inspire it, but it takes time. Having everyone understand their value just might help it get to the right place quicker.
